Hi my name is Margaret. I would like to tell you why I love DISH network satellite TV, besides the awesome programming packages that they have out there. Let me guide you through some of these features.
There are many kinds of receivers out there today. Every company has their own. DISH Networks receivers are unique. They have a dual receiver. I love my dual box. First a dual receiver controls 2 TVs at once. That means no box, no mess of cords for the second TV. You can watch different programs on both TVs at the same time. It is not like when you would run a splitter off of a cable box to use 2 TVs, and you had to watch the same program on both TV’s. Each TV is separate but they share common features of the receiver box you choose, we will get into that later.
There are different kinds of dual receivers the first one I would like to talk about is the standard dual receiver box. It works like most other receivers you have used in the past with the exception that it controls two TV’s instead of one. You can access account information, programming guide, choose the show you want to watch. Like I said it is pretty basic and easy to use. They also offer a single standard receiver box for those who only utilize one television.
We also offer a HD TV (High Definition TV) Which Has all the same features of SD receiver with one very different exception; you will watch TV with DISH Networks award winning HD service. Watch your favorite programs with crystal clarity. We offer over 40 channels in High Def.
Then we have the DVR receiver (Digital Video Recorder) they are a little more advanced than the standard receiver. Again there are different variations of DVR's.
The Standard-Definition DVR receiver (SD DVR) has all of the same features as the standard box and a whole lot more! It works a lot like a VCR with the exception of it records internally. No more VCR tapes, no more DVD's to scratch, nothing to put in at all. You can skip back and watch the part of the show you missed on live TV, then skip forward to miss those pesky commercials. It automatically records your favorite shows, there are 4 different kinds of timer options, but my favorite has to be I can record ex. House on TV #2 (in my bedroom) and watch Sponge Bob on TV #1 (in the living room). Later when my kids are asleep I can then watch House on either TV #1 or TV #2 it's my choice because those two TV's share the same box. I have 65 hours of recording time on my Dish Network Dual DVR and most of it is used up with movies from pay per views we've rented, they have the last chance channel that rents movies for $1.99 for an all day pass, but that is another subject.
DISH Network also offers High-Definition DVR receiver (HD DVR), DISH Networks award winning HD DVR, includes everything the Standard-Definition DVR has and High Definition quality to optimize your LCD and Plasma TV’s. It has the best picture clarity, and you can watch and record in high definition. These receivers are becoming more readily available and more affordable for costumers.
We also have External hard drives for those who would like more recording space, which you can enjoy almost limitless recording. These can be purchased at most consumer electronics retailers. They are connected to your receiver box through a USB 2.0 Cable. It allows you to transfer recorded movies or shows from your DVR to your external hard drive. From this external hard drive you can store programs, watch them, pause or even send them back to the DVR.
